How to Choose a School: Lodging Area & Transportation

Furano Ski Resort is divided into two areas: “Kitanomine Zone” and “Furano Zone.” Some schools operate in both zones, while others operate only in one. Both zones offer quality courses and schools, but choosing based on your lodging location and transportation makes the day’s flow smoother and helps you get the most out of your lesson time.

  • Staying at New Furano Prince HotelSchools in the Furano zone are convenient and recommended.
  • Staying in the Kitanomine area (no ski area shuttle)Schools in the Kitanomine zone are convenient and recommended.
  • Have a car or hotel shuttle, etc.Either zone is fine (choose by lesson content and availability).

Note: Lift tickets are shared, and the zones connect near the top of the mountain. However, first-timers and beginners may find inter-zone travel difficult. It’s safer to complete your first lesson in the zone where you’re staying, including meeting and dismissal. Both zones have plenty of beginner-friendly runs, so beginners can fully enjoy skiing or snowboarding within a single zone.
